Kusch Yachts

German Engineering
Founded in 1981 by Claus Kusch, Kusch Yachts established its roots in Wewelsfleth, Northern Germany — situated at Peters Werft, a shipyard with deep shipbuilding tradition and now the core of Kusch’s superyacht operations. Their first delivery, the yacht “Lady Georgina” (originally Katalina), was handed over in 1982, marking the beginning of a legacy that would soon span some of the largest and most ambitious private yachts in the world.
From the earliest days, Kusch defined its mission: to deliver entirely bespoke, large-scale yachts — a philosophy summarised in their motto “Tailor-Made in Germany.” Every project is crafted with meticulous attention to detail, combining high-quality materials, precise engineering and a client-centred design process.

The Yard
Based on the banks of the Stör river and a short distance from Hamburg, Kusch’s shipyard benefits from strategic access to major transport links and an on-site helipad — an asset for international clients and deliveries. The yard boasts two covered dry-docks (135 m / 115 m, both 22 m wide and 5.5 m deep), extensive storage sheds exceeding 2,000 m², five berths totalling 500 m, and multiple cranes. All outfitting, mechanical, and structural work is handled on-site, supported by dedicated workshops and team facilities including crew offices, galley, laundry and meeting lounges — ensuring comfort and efficiency during long-term refit or build projects. This infrastructure allows Kusch to offer comprehensive services beyond new builds: full refits, conversions, maintenance, classification and statutory works — enabling them to support a yacht through its entire lifecycle.
