The Arksen 85 is a 27.4 metre explorer yacht conceived for serious ocean adventures and long-range sustainability, built by Wight Shipyard in the UK. As the third hull in Arksen’s 85 series, she reflects the brand’s mission to redefine luxury adventure yachting with a focus on environmental responsibility and operational autonomy. Designed by Humphreys Yacht Design, the vessel showcases a robust aluminium hull and superstructure engineered for efficiency and endurance. Her semi-displacement hull form ensures capable performance across a wide range of conditions, while redundancy systems and large tank capacities enable remote cruising for extended periods. A range of up to 7,000 nautical miles at 9 knots places her in rarefied territory for a sub-30m platform, and her operational systems—including the option for hybrid propulsion—are developed with sustainability and reliability in mind. The yacht supports both owner-operated and crewed configurations, giving prospective buyers remarkable flexibility. Whether crossing oceans or navigating far-flung fjords, the Arksen 85 is tailored for those who prioritise adventure, self-sufficiency, and conscious cruising without sacrificing comfort or design sophistication.

Go-anywhere architecture
The Arksen 85’s exterior design is defined by function-forward styling, rugged build quality, and cleverly integrated spaces that elevate expedition utility. Constructed entirely from marine-grade aluminium, including the hull, superstructure and decks, she delivers long-term durability and reduced maintenance. Teak decking elements add contrast and warmth, while her 1.55m draught allows access to shallow bays and less-explored anchorages. The aft deck has been optimised for multi-role use. A large open cockpit serves as a platform for al fresco dining, relaxation, and storage of mission-critical gear. The 4,000kg payload capacity accommodates a wide variety of equipment, from a 5.5m tender to scientific apparatus, motorbikes, or even a submersible. A custom crane system supports seamless deployment. Forward on the main deck, guests can enjoy seating with unobstructed views, while the bridge deck offers additional sheltered exterior space. This exterior layout is not simply functional but smartly thought through—making the most of every square metre for practical needs and sociable use. From tropical archipelagos to polar regions, the Arksen 85’s exterior is built to serve as both basecamp and viewing platform for nature’s most remote theatres.

Sustainable sophistication
The interior of the Arksen 85 has been designed in collaboration with Design Unlimited, blending expedition resilience with a calm, minimal aesthetic. Every detail is curated with sustainability in mind: worktops made from recycled plastic, reclaimed wood finishes, and upcycled fabrics—including options derived from ocean plastic or textile waste. The layout is intelligently zoned for extended cruising, with multiple communal and private spaces spread across three decks. On the main deck, the saloon and galley form a single social space, flowing out to the aft cockpit through sliding glass doors. A day head and practical galley layout underscore its liveaboard credentials. The bridge deck features a secondary lounge with chart table and optional study—ideal for planning routes or relaxing after a day’s exploration. Below, the yacht offers versatile guest accommodations: a full-beam master suite amidships, a forward VIP, and twin or double guest cabins with optional bunks. Accommodation for up to 10 guests is possible, depending on configuration, while a dedicated crew area supports either two or four depending on needs. In both layout and material choice, the Arksen 85 provides an interior that is rugged yet refined—welcoming for guests, practical for passage-making, and responsible in its environmental footprint.
