Pearl

Boutique Beginings
Pearl Yachts was founded in 1998 by former captain Iain Smallridge and businessman John Yarnold — two individuals who believed there was a space in the market for modern, stylish, and thoughtfully designed flybridge motor yachts crafted with high-end attention to detail. Based in Warwick, UK, Pearl’s headquarters may lie “inland,” but their network — including dealerships in established yachting hubs such as Mallorca, the French Riviera, and Florida — gives them global reach and influence. From the outset, Pearl adopted a “small-volume, high-quality” manufacturing philosophy: rather than mass produce, they commit to building only a few units per model each year, allowing deep customization and personal oversight. This boutique approach earned them a reputation for combining British design sensibilities with efficient production techniques, delivering yachts that punch above their size in terms of luxury and comfort.

The Range
Pearl’s range currently focuses on flybridge motor yachts spanning roughly 18 m to 30 m (≈ 60–95 ft). Among their principal models are the Pearl 62, Pearl 72, Pearl 82, and Pearl 95, each designed to offer a slightly different balance of space, performance and lifestyle. Yacht design comes from the esteemed studio Dixon Yacht Design, giving Pearl yachts a distinctive exterior profile characterised by clean, contemporary lines, substantial glazing and streamlined silhouettes. Interiors are styled by Kelly Hoppen MBE, resulting in refined, modern spaces that make optimal use of volume — creating onboard environments that combine comfort, sophistication and practicality in a compact footprint. In practice, despite their relatively modest size compared to “classic” superyachts, Pearl yachts deliver a “big-yacht feel”: generous cabins, open social areas, beach-club style swim platforms, substantial galley and outdoor dining space — features often found only on larger vessels.
Operational Intelligence
Pearl Yachts blends international sourcing with European finishing. The hulls and composite mouldings are typically produced in Asia — capitalizing on established global facilities — while final outfitting and finishing are carried out in Europe. This hybrid approach enables Pearl to control quality and cost, delivering “tailor-made” yachts without the premium typically associated with fully bespoke European builds. Thanks to the relatively compact size of their yachts, Pearl emphasizes efficient layouts, ease of handling and fuel-efficient propulsion systems (for example, models like Pearl 62 come with Volvo IPS drives for smoother, quieter cruising and easier manoeuvring. The result is a yacht that offers the comfort and amenities of a larger vessel, but with the operational simplicity and lower maintenance cost more typical of mid-size motor yachts.

Pearl 82 - "Pearly Spencer"
In recent years Pearl has continued evolving its offering. In 2024, the first unit of the new 25.3-metre model Pearl 82 (the Pearly Spencer currently for sale with Superyacht Partners) was delivered, underscoring the yard’s commitment to refining and expanding its line-up with fresh, modern designs. The Pearl 82 model sits between the shipyard's Pearl 95 and Pearl 72 offerings and features a raised pilothouse design with a semi-walkaround main deck with a forward master suite and private forepeak terrace. This is the only yacht on the market with this configuration and makes it possibly the most compact superyacht on the market. The yard remains committed to controlled, incremental growth: in an interview, Iain Smallridge noted that Pearl plans to gradually increase production from around 12 units a year (in 2023) to roughly 18 by 2025 — but emphasised that this increase will not compromise the core “boutique-builder” philosophy.

Pearl 100
In September 2025 Pearl unveiled the Pearl 100 Hybrid, a 30-metre raised-pilothouse yacht that becomes the new flagship of the Pearl line and the first in the fleet equipped with hybrid propulsion from the outset. The 100 Hybrid features the innovative E-Motion diesel-electric system paired with twin MAN V12 engines, enabling silent zero-emission cruising, efficient low-speed manoeuvring or conventional performance up to 24 knots — addressing an increasingly important demand for lower environmental impact and quieter operation. Layout-wise, it offers five staterooms including two full-beam master suites, generous flybridge and outdoor social spaces (including Jacuzzi, wet bar, sunpads and extended dining/lounge areas), a hidden tender/toys garage, and large glazing for panoramic light — embodying Pearl’s signature blend of elegant design, comfort and smart functionality. The first unit has already been sold, with delivery expected in summer 2026. With the 100 Hybrid, Pearl signals that it aims to offer owners a “future-ready” yacht — combining live-aboard comfort, modern design and responsible propulsion technology — whilst preserving the brand’s DNA of stylish, accessible motor-yachts.
